Ok,

So I've been looking everywhere for black aluminium fly screen for my homemade cages as I dont like the thought of crix eating through the fiberglass screen.

I can find it anywhere in the UK, and shipping costs from the US are more than the price of buying the screen!

My question is this: Can I buy the silver aluminium screen that is available here and spray it black? If so, can I use PVC spraypaint to spray it? Will I need to prime it first? My only concern is that the crix might chew at the paint.

100% would reccommend against it.

Everyone here is an expert on chams, but I'm an artist / designer and I've grown up doing graffiti. Spraypaint is a chemical mixture to bond pigment, nothing is guarantee when applying to a different surface and I would not take the risk. Very unneccessary problem to introduce to your feeders and Cham. Buy a new cage if u must
