Hello, everyone.
I have been keeping a male chameleon for 2 years.
I found an interesting change recently---- the color of his skin change a lot.
One month ago. The color of his skin began to change.
It's just like leaves lose their color in fall, and the clothes or pictures are faded.
(PS:Nothing wrong with his diet, he can eat 4 crickets one time)
So I don't think he get health problem.
I'd like to know, is it cause by the age ? Is that mean he is getting old ?
Would you like to share idea with me ? Thanks.

Has anything changed with the husbandry? Maybe he is getting too hot in his enclosure and his attempting to reflect the heat by turning a lighter colour. I remember reading about a chameleon turning white on another thread. The chameleon was just too warm and was trying to keep cooler. Maybe you could try lowering the temps and see if anything changes.

I would get him tested for parasites. I have seen color fade for different reasons but one was a case of pinworms that was cleared up with a treatment of liquid panacure and giving acidophilus drops to restore flora in their gut and they bounced back quite well. It took a couple of months to see the final result.
