how will i know when it needs to lay eggs? how often will it need to do this? what do i do and what are ways of telling if it has eggs. i did read a little that they can die from not being able to lay. im not sure the age and i have had her if thats what it is for about 4 or 5 months now so now im a little worried.

First.. why do you keep calling her an it? ;)

and second- jannb has a great blog on laying bins.

egg laying is not as hard or scary as it seems. or is made out to be.

People post here when they have problems with egg laying.. which makes it seem worse than it is. tons of people (including myself) have bred and had females succesfuly lay but just dont report it.

so breathe, and ask any questions you might have.

as long as you provide the proper equipment for your female.. she will do the rest.

i call it an IT because its seems we cant all agree on the sex or the type some people say one thing some people say another. pet store said its a senegal and then its not. no one seems to know 100% i would like some more input befor i start calling it one or the other for sure. Thanks alot for all the help so far theres alot of good info here i just wana be 110% on the sex and type.

i will as soon as i get back i need to go do some job stuff and be back and ill add as mant pics and diff typs as you want. sorry if i sound a little dick i dont mean to i just wana be sure. im sure some one on here was already right but there seems to be a few diff ideas as to what it is and its sex so i just wana rule them all out.

I have a Senegal, and I also have been researching the differences between several of the more inexpensive chams on the market. I can at the very least tell you what it is. As far as the sex goes, I will need some help with that as well. (Which is why I call mine an IT as well.)

Here is my research so far.

In case you can't find it, it is post #31 in the thread. I hope this helps!

Oh, and pics will really help a bunch.
