So Kai MacKay the baby panther came 2.5 days ago and he isn't being super active but he's not a total lump either. I know he's still probably a bit (a lot) nervous but he spends most of the day in mid enclosure  I have yet to see him basking! He stays in his goth clothes most of the time and at night puts on his cute pastel pj's. I've seen him eat but not as much as I'd like to see for such a wee lad. 3 crickets yesterday, 3 the day before (arrival day) and null today so far. He looks hydrated and I found a poop today that looked perfect, good shape/color and white urates. Just looking for reassurance Im being a nervous new mom and he just needs a bit more time to adjust. So how long was it for some of you?
Oh and heres the gist to date: 2x2x4 DIY, 40W basking (79-85F, depending on time of day a mistings), 5.0 reptisun UVB, mistking 4x day, 69-76F ambient, 50-69% RH day, night temp no lower than 55F, live plants only to keep up humidity in dry ohio winter, cool mist humidifier when needed but I do let it dry out between. I think he is ~3 months old ambilobe. Thanks for any thoughts or comments!

Seems a bit cool. Id try to get the cage around 80 durring the day, above 60 at night, and basking around the lower 90's. My babies never basked so i wouldnt worry if yours doesnt either. The cricket amount seems low unless they are pretty good sized. At 90-120 days mine was going through 500 1/8 crickets a month.

My ohio adults are 69f at night,80f durring the day, 95 wide basking area (50 watt flood 18" above cham) with misting about your schedule. No humidifier, but its a small room thats aways shut, so its easy to heat with just the lights and the humidity is around 40-45% unless its below zero out, then things really dry out and get down to 30% for a few days.

The cricket count is low that he is consuming but there are 10-12 in there for him to hunt down. I just changed his light to 75W which raised the temps a bit to 88F and mid ambient to 72-75F. God I hope he is just adjusting still and I am trying to just leave him be as much as possible! It usually stays about 63F at night (average), that was just the lowest I've seen pre-cham cage preps. Thank you for the info I was defiantly planning on getting a extension for his bask lamp. I worry so much about burns and being too cold equally  Also will pick up that bulb to see how it works for this cage!
