Snail question

Has anyone here gotten snails from Niles bio?
How long did it take them to lay eggs?
How many eggs did they lay
How long did it take for the eggs to hatch?
How long did it take for the babies to grow into mature adults?
Thanks!

Snails are pretty slow growers

Here's a good blog entry from Sandrachameleon about raising snails

If you aren't in Ca, then you need to be aware of this from Niles Bio
If you are outside California you need to have a USDA permit to receive land snails. Please contact us for a USDA permit application PPQ 526 or go online and apply via ePermits at www.aphis.usda.gov

Niles Bio is a great site to buy snails off of as long as you have a permit for it. A few forum members have purchased from this site. I wanted to purchase from here myself since it's so cheap.. need to stop at the permit filling out office first.

I hear you can end up with a lot of babies very quickly.

I bought 3 snails off of a site called snailsinthemail (now a permit is needed as well) and all 3 died before they mated.

I purchased my snails from Niles bio and bred them. Keep in mind their snails are wild caught so you will need to separate the eggs from the adult habitat to prevent possible parasite transfer. They can lay eggs within a few weeks after getting comfortable and it takes about 2 weeks for eggs to hatch. It can take a couple months for the snails to be a good feeding size. I have a guide blog in my signature below.

I use almost all of piggletts guides. They're all extremely accurate and reliable
