Right, I'd agree with Angie. Its the residue the smoke or candles leave behind that is the big problem, not the active smoking or burning itself. Those residues settle on everything...like your cham's plants. When the cham licks the leaves and climbs around the cage it is picking up the nicotine, tar, petroleum based waxes, resins, etc. on its tongue and its skin. Chams and birds are very similar in their sensitivities and respiratory tract structure. And, the rule of thumb for birds is pretty strict...no smoking or scented candles at all.
