Slumped and not eating

Hi All

Worried about my Chameleon. I've had him over a year since a baby but his character seems to have declined in the past few weeks.

He hasn't been eating much in terms of super worms and crickets and now doesn't seem to be eating at all. I don't know how to get him to eat. He's not moving much and seems to be slumped on his branches more. I havent done anything different from before.

This picture was a couple of days ago. He looks ago but his character is not the same.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. He is a big part of the family over the past year and we have loved seeing him grow.

Hi! I’m sorry your cutie isn’t feeling well. Two things: 1. Could you post a photo of the back of his rear feet? I think your little guy may actually be a girl. 2. If you can fill out the questions I posted below, maybe we can troubleshoot what’s going on here.

Chameleon Info:

  • Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
  • Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
  • Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
  • Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
  • Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
  • History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

  • Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
  • Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
  • Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?

Current Problem - The current problem you are concerned about.

Please Note:

  1. The more details you provide the better and more accurate help you will receive.
  2. Photos can be very helpful.

He’s beautiful! I hope your able to get your husbandry reviewed and figure out what’s going on ☺️

Hi. The best way to try and help figure out what may be going on with your guy would be to do a husbandry review. I’d also like to see some more pics of him and his enclosure.
Can only agree with this. Did you scare him when taken the picture? He looks fired-up, but I’m a bit concerned about his sunk in eyes, which could be part of the fired-up (hopefully). If not, dehydration or declining is the other thing, which would be more concerning. Therefore doing the husbandry review is highly recommended and maybe a vet intervention is needed as well.
