Slow shedding..

Jus wandering if anyone can tell me why my male has a habit of jus giving up halfway through his shed ??? does spraying with warm water really work? Can i let him paddle in shallow warm water?? Please any ideas???

Ok thanks so its ok to spray with warm water...What about the paddeling bit? And do you think hes ok? (or jus lazy lol)

Mista is shedding at the moment but only on his sides.I spray him more often when he sheds and it does help.
He is a lazy shedder, he doesn't help it along just kind of waits for it to fall off.
I have noticed the last two times he shed he isn't doing it all in one ,but i also read as they get older they do it in stages.
