I have a 4 week old male veiled chameleon. I have had him a week today. When I first saw him I thought twice about getting him, since he was so small and this is my first chameleon, but then I thought of all of the research I had done in the past 4 months on husbandry and then there is this site, which is a lifesaver. He came with a 30 day guarantee.
Anyway...he sleeps a lot. I know it is a bad sign for adult chams, but is it normal for babies to sleep during the day? I have been dusting the crickets like I should and gutloading as recommended. His temps are in the upper 80's in his basking spot and around 72 at the bottom. I mist probably 6 or 7 times a day, whenever I see that his cage has dried from the last misting.
Should I be worried that he only eats 2(sometimes 1) crickets a day? I have some fruit flies coming on Wed. Is his sleeping something to be concerned about? Sorry if this doesn't belong in this forum. I just need some advice on this. Thanks in advance!
