sign of hydration or dehydration?

Hey, I have a Jacksons JJ which is about 10months old and I have had him for 3 months now. As for hydration I hand mist 3 - 5 times daily sometimes using warm water for 3 minute sessions ...have a dripper on all day and sometimes use the fogger. My location has a good humidity of 60 - 70 and when I mist it goes up to 80 - 90. I have only seen my cham drink on the first day I got him...other than that he sometimes opens his mouth when I mist him...
I have also done sessions of over 5 mins but did not see him drink ...I just want some info such as if he gets hydrated through juicy gut loaded crickets ? And I have heard that the pads on his head are an indication...puffed - hydrted ...sunken - dehydrated..mine are slightly puffed...his urates are clear with some white and yellow and his poop is not dry...look forward to your replies...

I use too methods with my Jackson's. I mist for around 10 minutes once a day or every other day. I also use a dripper. When my mister goes off my j Jacksonii gets wet so if he's thirsty he'll drink without having to move to the dripper. I live near the beach so my humidity is fine, in fact I never worry about humidity. The good thing is at night the humidity really goes up where I live and I think the Jackson's really like that.

Post some pictures of your guy. We don't see enough j Jacksonii on here.

Thanks ...I will get some decent pictures shortly and will add them to this thread...I guess they drink more in dry climates...what is your say about the pads on their head?

The pads on their head are an indication of hydration and diet. A healthy chameleon will have slightly bulging fat pads on their head. My way of thinking is if you provide water long enough for them to drink don't worry about seeing them drink, they will if they need to.

My j Jacksonii is probably the hardiest chameleon I've ever had. He deals with whatever and always looks good. I think he's 3 or 4 years old now.

That`s what I thought exactly...thy will drink when they are thirsty ...if they have water. My daughter is just the same with food gahhh but I seem to worry about my cham just as much !

Anyways I will take a couple of decent pics (at his best :) and post em
