Showering

Can someone give me a description how to safely shower a chameleon, I tried today but he seemed to freak out tried to climb the wall of the shower and fell but I caught him

Did you have him on a plant??? You should have a tall potted plant and sit that in the shower and of course the chameleon sits on the plant. Turn it on and have the water bounce off the walls onto the plant and your chameleon. Do not turn the water directly on him, if that is what you did.

Was it cold? Also- why is he being showered?

Warm the water a bit, not hot.
I use a quart spray bottle, with the nozzle adjust for coarse spray.
Then I just spray them from above.
At first they seem to want to get out of the way, but then they hold still and close their eyes while I spray them.
