Should I buy a female panther chameleon

So, I originally had plans to get a female carpet chameleon, and I had designed an enclosure for the carpet. She was going to be in a 36 x 24 x 18 cage, with all the appropriate lighting and humidity etc. However, recently I have seen that there is a shortage of carpet chameleons, and so that as well as the fact that I want a longer lived and larger chameleon (also I love the peach, pink and orange color lol) have made me start to consider getting a female panther chameleon. Do you guys think it would be a good idea to get a 3 month female panther, put it in my original cage and then after 6 months or so, change to a larger 2 x 2 x 4 cage that is better suited for Panthers.

Let me know if this is a good idea or if that wouldn't work out too well.

You should not have any issues with a 24x18x36 enclosure for a female panther chameleon. It will not work if your enclosure is actually 36 wide instead of 36 tall.

I love the beautiful panther ladies in all of their pretty colors. They are smaller than the males, of course, but still need adequate space. Even though she is the smallest of my chameleons, I have my girl in a double sized (4x4x2’) enclosure and she does use all of the space. Those chameleons which I got as babies, I did start them out in ReptiBreeze large enclosures. While the spent a couple of months growing, I was getting their adult sized enclosures ready.
