should I be worried?

My chameleon just fell. He falls from time to time but usually catches himself. This time he hit the ground, I don't know where in the cage he fell from, because I wasn't watching.

How do I know if he's ok? :(

Do a thread search for MBD and see if your cham has any of the symptoms or resembles any pics. Usually that is a pretty good sign that something is wrong with the legs.
And I would be worried, but then again, maybe the cham dozed off and fell or perhaps was aiming for food and lost balance... Is it staying at the bottom of the cage or did it climb back up?

Chameleons usually just don't fall. Something may be wrong with him.
Try to find out what he is doing before he falls. There could be other issues such as he is climbing on the screen and falls because he doesn't have any nails to grip on the screen. If this is the case, he may be healthy, but you may want to provide more braches and things to climb on.
Also, are your branches appropriately sized for the chameleon. If the chameleon is young and the branches are too thick, he may have problems gripping on the branch.
Just try to figure out what is causing it. Because if it is a health issue, he needs to be taken care of right away.

there are a ton of branches, he's big and teh branches are a good size. He may have been climbing on the screen... I've seen him lose his grip on the screen before, but he catches himself on a branch.

He's climbed back up, yes.

No visible inguries, and he's just hanging out on a branch now. But his movement on a normal day is great.

Keep an eye on him. Id still research MBD just so you are aware of any signs to help in early prevention. Hope a simple fall is all it is. If he starts dragging his legs or falls on a daily basis, I would make it a point to see a vet asap.:)

Good luck!

He fell again today. It seems as though he falls sometimes when he's attempting to climb down the screen. ugh

Im asking the same q as above your last response..what kind of screen? Mesh, wire? Id be scared that wire but cut him or get his nails caught in and that could be the issue behind him falling.

Aluminum. I used the supplies listed from another Cham owner to make his cage. There haven’t been any problems until recently. It's like he gets bored and chooses the dumbest way to get to the bottom of the cage. He's always hanging from branches and exploring in the weirdest ways.

I am also asking the same question.... What kind of screen?

This is not the same question... What kind of UV do you provide?

there are more vines added since this picture. My camera is broken, so no new photos.

First of all please get it off the ground if you haven't already. Secondly if the holes in the screen are as small as I think they are he's probably not getting too much grip. Offer some more places to climb.

It's not on the ground...It was just finished being put together when that picture was taken.
secondly, I already stated that there has been a ton of other things to climb on added, this is just the most recent picture I have because my camera is broken.
