She's digging!!

Thanks all. I don't think I ruined anything yet, but if I had to pick her up and put her in a bigger container, I am worried she'd hold a grudge and her clutch. Not to mention, I only had the sand to set up one laying bin.

I picked her up once to put her in her new enclosure and it didn't go smoothly. She hates hands, and hisses and lunges if they are anywhere near her.

Stay away and leave her alone, I would not try to move her while she is digging. Just relax and answer each and every response you get on here from us. :D:D That will help you stay busy while she is busy.

what are the eggs like afterward? I will have to pull out the sand bin and dig them out, right? Do they burst, are they full of anything? (infertile) how long can I leave them alone in there? I heard taking her eggs away might depress her.

my female veiled who is about a foot long, maybe more like 14 inches long, laid 53 infertile eggs in a 6 inch deep cooler. you probably have nothing to worry about

WOW!!!!!!!!

That's a relief! It's about 8 or 9 inches of sand in a 12 inch tub. all measurements are guessed, because I'm sitting on the other side of the room.

I am so happy to hear that she won't abort just because it's not enough sand.

OMG I'M SO EXCITED THIS IS HAPPENING.

Maybe she won't be such a cranky biyotch after this, and will take crickets from a cup again!!

Lily laid hers just about lights out. I gave her water and let her sleep. Next day fed her well removed the bin and dug up the eggs they were all the way to the bottom.

You want them out so they do not rot.
They are about the size of jelly beans- they are eggs and look like eggs just small.

the eggs look exactly like pink jelly beans. they're squishy. some might be whitish. inside is the chameleon equivalent to the chicken egg's yolk. they're not too easy to break. i tried cutting one open with a sharp edged scalpel and it was actually kind of challenging

Feeling better now? You seem to have calmed down some :p and now that you know how it goes, next time won't be so bad! >.> imagine how bonkers you would have been if the eggs might have been fertile XD

Yeah. I'm calmed down. :)

She's been in the same position for an hour now, with just her crest poking out of her hole. So I'm crossing my fingers that one hole is enough for her! Looks like I have some work ahead of me, tomorrow. haha.

55 gal plastic trash can. Use heavy duty hardware cloth for the screen to deal with the weight of cats however I would just not let them in the room with the animal.

Fill the bottom with 18" of whatever mix you use. Leave the critter alone.

Come back later and taaa daa! Skinny pissed off female lizard wanting water, food, and rest.

I do enjoy how you phrased that last line. :D:D
