shedding

sometimes my cham takes forever to shed completely. is it okay to help him out after awhile to get rid of the the last pieces of dead skin.

Not by pulling it off. You can spray him for a little longer if you like (adds humidity), but pulling it off can damage the skin.

If you want to help him with his shedding do it with lots of extrs misting with warm water. Pulling the shed off chameleons is hard on them, you don't want to hurt him. so mist or showders are the way yo go.

No you shouldn't pick the skin off. Extra mistings to increase the humidity whilst he is shedding will help. Make sure that everything dries out in between though - this will also give the skin chance to dry out and flake off. As chams get older they shed more slowly anyway. Adults shed a different parts over several days, whereas babies undergo a full body shed in a few hours!
