Shed question?

My guy went through a shed a couple days ago, but there's a tiny tiny piece of flaked skin still on him underneath his chin.

Do I leave it, or try and gently get it off?

Don't pull on shed, it can damage their normal skin. You can up his mistings or put him in the shower (on a plant, the nozzle aimed at the wall so gentle mist goes on him) it'll come off on it's own.

Yeah, leave it. A tiny, tiny piece :) You're a bit of a perfectionist are you? Karmas right though, it is very easy to damage Cham skin so just let it come off on its own.

Not so much a perfectionist.. but when it comes to any of my babies, pretty paranoid.

Hi, Kmw...you'll find that mature chameleons, in particular, seem to leave bits of shed "for the next time"...it gets all white and ready to drop, but doesn't.

Oh thank you. I remember reading somewhere that unshed skin can be dangerous. Im sure it was meant for bigger chunks, possibly wrapped around legs/tails - that could lead to harm. But i just wanted to make sure! :)

It's when they are wrapped around limbs or the tail and even that only really applies to young chameleons that are growing quickly.
