Shed day for Herbie

So Herbie has been a little grumpy for the last day or two so I've been extra scarce in his presence even at times covering his cage to block out traffic and I think I found out why today.... As I walked over to mist the little guy I saw nothing but a moving clump of baby white skin... Little Herbie has shed himself into a conundrum.. The cutest conundrum I have ever witnessed

I was actually wondering if anyone can tell by the awful pic here... and the pic here if Herbie is a male or not... I can't for the life of me get a 100% answer... He wont let me get close enough with the camera to get a good vent shot but I will say that there is a SLIGHT bump at the vent/tail meeting point... But after the shed he is showing whites, browns, greys and his side patterns look more round than bars.... Anyone?
