She drank from the tap (faucet)

I have been taking Gizzy to the tap at the sink every day for about a week and using the water to drip on her for some moisture. Today i took her to the sink when she turned around, stuck her head into the water flow and helped herself to a good drink ! I couldn`t believe my eyes I left it a few hours and took her back, sure enough she did it again. I will have to get the hubby to take a pic tomorrow she just looks so sweet.

That a lizard is willing to do that, should convince those who beleive simply misting provides enough water for life, that they may just be wrong! IMO if your lizard is beyond a few months old, install a dripper that runs most if not all of the day.
Hydration is crucially important for any creature.

lol its so funny to listen to chameleon ownd=ers talk about there first drinking experiance....chams are hard to catch drinking water....it you can dripper train them ...and saringe water them...then you can make sure there drinking....just make sure theres no sunken eyes or dark yellow - orange urate...( just saying for any newcomers that may read this)

jojackson - both my chams have drippers that run if not all day then twice a day (depending on my work commitments) and I have never witnessed either of them use it!

We do have a dripper set up, she will use it sometimes, but prefers draining the leaves usually. I just thought i`d give her a little shower, but Gizzy loves her water and had other ideas. I`m just glad it`s not a beer tap

I dont think its nessesary to 'train' them, millions of years of instinct dosen't dissapear in captivity. If you provide easy access to ample moving water, they will make use of it as needed.
Imo once your lizard starts biting off misted leaves (but not eating them), it needs a more ample water source.
Lil, ill bet they do use it when your not around. Either way, its still ample water running over leaves etc, wheather they guzzel directly from it or not, they will still be drinking as much as they need if you provide the means.

yeah my little man wont drink from a dripper either but i spray his cage like 6 or 7 times a day for like 20sec and get everything really good.
