Share a cage...?

Okay, so here's the deal. My girlfriend and I bought a Jackson's chameleon a little less than a month ago. He's a little under a year old.
We were just in a pet shop today. They just got in a juvenile veiled chameleon. We REALLY want to get him. So my question....
We want to get him fast so no one beats us to it.
Can we put the two in the same cage (24" x 24" x 48") just until we get another setup, which would be in about a week.
I would appreciate all of the feedback you guys have to offer.
Thanks!!!

Basically chameleons shouldn't be housed together unless the enclosure is so large that they can easily avoid each other, and even then only done by very experienced keepers. Had they been babies, its a little less of a concern. I would just divide the cage as suggested by patrickfraser and build a new cage. Is it a Male? you'll need a larger cage for him then your Jackson. Also, care differs. You may want to do your research. If you are new to chameleon keeping I'd suggest keep with your Jackson for a while longer. Also, Male Veileds are well known for being 'aggressive' meaning yours might not want to be held. Depends on the individual chameleon of course, but from my understanding Jacksons are generally more docile.

That being said~ We got our Male Veiled the same way just switched, went to the pet store to look at the baby Jacksons and the other half fell in love with our (1-2 month male veiled) Melon who we paid for that day and took him home a little over two weeks later. Hope it all works out for you :)

As everyone said - don't keep them together. Do you know that veileds require different temps, humidity and supplementation then jackosons?
If you won't be able to buy this one, don't worry. There are many sites (check our sponsors) that sell veilds, and the ones from the pet shops are usually in quite a bad shape.

Even if you could it wouldn't work as veiled need higher temps than jacksons and you wouldn't need a bigger cage for the veiled at all, 24x24x48 is more than enough

You could go ahead and pay for the veiled or put a deposit on it and then just wait to get it when you have a cage for it. Otherwise, I wouldn't put them together.

Buying any chameleon shouldn't be an impulse buy. You should have all the necessary supplies required before the purchase. Proper caging, lighting, misting, plants, supplements etc. This way you can achieve the proper temps and humidity in the cage before the cham arrives. Good luck.
