shaking cham

I have gone to all the "exotic" vets in the area, including Palmdale and I can tell they do not know much on reptiles. I get so frustaded to go around town in search of a good vet just to hear "maybe is this" or "let's give them that" and nothing good comes out of it...

Yea I know there isn't much around here that knows what they are talking about thats why I joined here.

So... if she makes house calls and was free... why not continue making use of that? To be honest I'm not sure this really makes sense.

Maybe he does not want to look like he is taking advantage of their friendship?....

not so much that. Its that the mom isn't exactly very close with all of us. Like I said before getting her to come help was very rare and probably wont ever happen again.

Basically exactly what you all said I need the supplements more natural light and should move him into a different room because of my dog.

That's good she mentioned moving it away from the dog. I bet the dog caused a lot of stress...poor cham probably that he was going to get eaten all the time

Yea and it seems to already be helping so lets see how it goes from there

Anyway, do not waiste your time at the Ave. I vet, she knows nothing! The three times I went she told me we need Baytril "just in case". I take my chams to the vet for fecals and generals check ups...

When there is a real issue at hand, friends wouldn't hesitate to help. But now that I've read the post below I am beginning to understand, I suppose.

Ok, the only vet I always hear of is DR. Greek, but his office is in the IE, you know a good two hours from here, and he is closed on Sundays -my only day off- so there goes that option...

Hey guys just an update on Kaos the male veiled. His shaking has gone down but he seems to be weak still. Example when ever he isn't walking his whole body is resting on he vine. Also he has been missing a lot when shooting for food.

What did you do to bring his calcium levels back to normal?
If all you did was change the supplements to be the way they should have been all the way along, then you won't have brought them back in line.

You need to make sure that the calcium is brought back in line and then with the husbandry/supplementation changes that you were advised to make, keep them there.

IF its MBD for sure, then giving it some liquid calcium sandoz or gluconate should help along with making sure it has enough exposure to the UVB lights.....or you could take it to a vet and get some calcium injections followed by a shot of calcitonin when the blood calcium levels are high enough...which would be the fastest way.
