Shaker Bottles for Dusting Feeders

Just a quick post to say old spice bottles work great for dusting feeders. I use an old cinnamon bottle because the holes are just the right size. Saves me lots of wasted calcium powder and a whole lot of mess. Just turn it on the side and give a few quick taps. You can even buy a cinnamon bottle at the dollar store, pour the cinnamon out and use the bottle. Cinnamon is a good pest deterrent in gardens so put it to use.

I really like EarthPro and Repashy. They’re that gray type that doesn’t clump like the white Repti calcium. That’s the stuff that would probably get picked up by tongues. To me it seems like powdered sugar.

I use the cricket shakers and adore them. Holds the excess supplement in the bottom. I use a cup to pour the insects into the hole on top. Close the hole and shake then shake the excess back into the bottom and pour back into my cup. I have one for each supplement.
