MK recommends replacing once clogged .
It's pretty much a biofilm that clogs it.
I have had luck disassembling, soaking in hydrogen peroxide overnight, and back flushing them before reassembling

Mine?
Hardly ever.
But I use 10+ gallons of RO water a day. I don't use the filter that comes with the MK.
I have a couple of 35 gallon barrels plumbed together.
The water passes through a stainless screen before it goes through a 5 micron sedimant filter, the type used for ro/di systems.
However, my son uses the MK filter, and (I think) he took one of my MK filters to replace his after around a year of use
