seen some chams in a shop which i want! ....

hi all,

made the mistake of going into my local store for a 'browse'! lol

in there they have a gorgeous baby tanzanian side striped chameleon - i really like this little guy and feel a bit sorry for him because he has been there a while and doesnt have any branches to climb on. He is chocolate brown with white stripes and very cute! They want £150 for him, is that about right?

also they have 2 adults, 1 is an ambilobe panther cham and one is a sambava panther cham. both are £200 - what do you think of the price? also they look identical, if one was female and one male, would they breed? would you want to breed them or would that be inbreeding? im a bit confused over the ambilobe/sambava bit! lol

obviously if i decided to get one of these chams i would put a deposit down and then go about researching loads before i got it.
I have a veiled at the moment and he is so cool ive just got hooked on chams! My boyfriend has a spare room, i have big plans to fill it full of chams! lol.

those are defiantly some good prices...you should get them...they can be hard to take care of but please rescue the little fellas

oh no, you do realise im going to have to go back in with 'unsuspecting boyfriend' in tow and look at him with those puppy dog eyes 'oh please can i have them, they HAVE to be rescued'! lol

how rare are the tanzanian side striped chams? ive never seen one of those before.

i have an old cupboard i was going to convert to 2 vivs, so maximum i can take 2 of them, spose it depends if they are male or female.

Will they need anything special compared to my veiled? I know the tanzanian has lower temps and duller lighting so maybe if he went in the single viv i have now and my veiled and 1 panther could go in the cupboard (in seperate sides).

now what can i sell on ebay...... lol

i used to have a sambava, very pretty red yellow and oranges! i would get the panthers. But i have no idea what i side stripe cham is, ill check it out on google. Good luck!

whats the difference between the sambava and the ambilobe?

sambavas are bright yellow/oranges and reds when fired up, calm colors are orange/black/ dark dark red and gree when calm.

they look awsome, and take a bit long to color up then your typical panther.

ambilobes.. arn't they just blue ...LOL..shows what i know about the other varieties...

so far tamataves and sambavas are my favorite.
