I agree. They may have basked during the day and coiled at night to retain enough heat for the next day. OR..they may have had different ways to thermo-regulate than today's reptiles. OR..they may have had heat sources other than the climate, like hot spots in the earth similar to the area around geysers and hot springs. After all, it's really all theory anyway.
