Scary stick and gender question!

Found a bit of mold on homeboy’s wavy stick this morning so I washed it with dawn and let it dry under the heat lamp while I was at work. Went to put it back in and he hissed (for the first time!), got all spotty and went statue! Pretty sure he though it was a snake!

Spent entirely too much money on new plants yesterday, and after the “snake incident” he decided to gtfo. So I showed him to his new plants and he chilled out all happy for a little while!

Posted his scary snake pic on r/chameleons and had some noob tell me I had a gravid female!

Just to be sure; these are tarsal spurs right??

It is a rubber plant, I have seen that they are safe from a few sources. I have been using https://flchams.com/chameleon-safe-plant-list/ to check before I buy!
