Scared for 1st vet visit tomorrow

Hey guys. Cant sleep im worrying about Kajis first vet visit tomorrow.
Been watching videos and reading on here what to expect, i am super sensitive anyway but i couldnt even really watch the videos. Should i expect the vets to be rough with him? We he get extremly stressed?
The past couple of weeks we have made such big progress with him and he is so friendly. He comes out of his cage and sits on the corner waiting for u to put ur hand out so he can climb on. Hes a sweetie and im worried it will undo our work. What do u think? But i know its good for us to have a Check up! Sigh. Think i just got to suck it up!!!

If your vet is one who regularly treats reptiles, then the vet visit shouldn't be traumatic.
I would not bring a cham to a vet who doesn't possess plenty of reptile knowledge.

You will be there with your Cham. If you have any concerns about the handling of your Cham, you have every right to ask. Perhaps the vet will take what you say and be more gentle. If not once you have the wellness check up, I would very nicely tell the vet you will not be returning and why you will not.

I have ever had a vet be rough with one of my chams. Let me know how it goes.

I haven't had a vet be too rough with them, people actually seem to be kind of timid when it comes to them and don't want to be too rough. I'm sure there isn't a problem talking to the vet about your concerns though. Ask around to some of the vets on here see what they would say

You're always going to have to manhandle any animal a little bit for the sake of a thorough check-up, like getting their abdomen palpated (he probably won't like it) or getting his mouth looked at (if he doesn't gape on his own it will have to be pried open manually). But it's all in the name of the greater good, and a good vet will be as fast and as efficient as possible so he's in and out in minutes.

You can always ask him/her nicely to please be as gentle and as slow as possible in handling him because you are working on taming, any good person will respect that and do their best to comply. You are, after all, the customer and have a right to request how you want your animals to be treated. But some man-handling is normal and probably necessary to really do a thorough check-up. You'll be glad for it if it ever helps you catch something early and you can treat it in time.

Here is what I experienced:

I was recommended a "reptile expert" vet about 20 miles from my home. I spoke to his secretaries and they said that he has seen a number of chameleons and that he is "knowledgeable" (though he was too busy to speak with me directly). When I brought my adult male Jackson's in, he ripped him from my hand (Max hissing and biting, which I have NEVER seen him do), he used his FINGERNAIL to uncover Max's small growth (which is why I was seeing the vet) and I just about had it from there.

I was out. Did not get the growth removed there. Sought out another vet who was MUCH more professional, I explained to her my experiences with the last vet. This vet did not have much experience, but BOY did she do her homework! Max had the growth removed under anesthesia (after blood tests/xrays, etc) and he is all healed up to this day with no growth! Yay!

Poor boy didn't trust me after that first visit...he is okay now.
