Following up on my prior post of Rex, the male panther I got from Catherine (PardalisGirl), https://www.chameleonforums.com/meet-rex-34020/, he got a nice New Year's Day surprise.... his first female!

I have had 2 virgin females that are currently 16 months old that I have been trying to breed with a number of my males and neither of them wanted anything to do with any of the boys - ever. Well, on January 1st, I thought I would try one of them with Rex and she took to him right away - would you believe I wasn't armed and ready with my camera? Well, yesterday, I thought what the heck, and tried the other female with him, too. She saw him and went right in. Rex came out of hiding and was like, "Another one?? Allllrrriiiiiggghhhhtt!!" This time I was prepared......

"What the....? What do we have here?"

whaaaaaaaat!!!!!!???????? THAT GUY IS SMO SMO SMO SMOKKKIIIINNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! damn you're lucky to have thet guy! He's a damn walking oil painting! hahaha sexy as hell!!

You should send that guy of yours to Angela (ilovechameleons) to get his portrait taken! :)

Tail Up!

OMG! She actually has her tail up for him :p She is beautiful and looks perfect for producing eggs. Rex has always looked handsome but the change in his head and turrets if amazing. He is so vibrant! You are right about him being a gentleman with her. He looks very careful with her. It so nice to see one of my boys go to such a good keeper. And one who provides him with his own mini harem :p

That has to be one of the prettiest ambanja's that I have seen in awhile. I recently got a CH male ambilobe from Catherine and could not be happier with him. He is in perfect health as yours appears to be. Good luck with those eggs, they should be some neat babies. Where did the females come from?

Thanks everyone! Yes, he is pretty smokin' isn't he? :D I am not letting this boy out of my sight, so if anyone wants to do a portrait (Angela), they are going to have to come here! LOL! I wish I had a better camera so that the pictures could actually do him justice!

This guys is an Ambilobe, not an Ambanja. Both girls he bred with are my own - one of them is a Nosey Be and the other (pictured) is a blue bar ambilobe. The other female and her sire (who is currently 7.5 years old, by the way) are pictured below. I don't have a decent picture of the ambilobe sire handy, but here is one of one of her brothers before he was sold. I really didn't care to mix the Nosey Be female with Rex, but she didn't like any of my other boys at all, so I figured what the hey. The female pictured (ambilobe) had a shedding problem at the tip of her tail when she was a baby and thus, the stump at the end.

I really look forward to any offspring from this stud-muffin!

The Nosey Be female that bred with Rex on 1/01/10 (picture was taken this past summer):
