Respiratory infection

does anyone know how long it takes for a chameleon to develop respiratory infection?

Well one already died last night I'm pretty sure they sent them to me sick I looked at a lot of reviews and they are known for sending sick animals it was from reptile city but as soon as I got them they kept opening the mouth and day sleeping all day and night then last night he was drooling gasped then died and they didn't overnight them either so they spent 3 days in a box to get here

I would file a complaint with whomever you bought them from. I have to ask though how long did you have them? and why did you buy from a company that had bad reviews?

I didn't know about the reviews till last night I got them in on Thursday tho the female isn't showing any signs of the symptoms just a lot of day sleeping tho

Like I said above file a complaint and might not be a bad idea to get the female to a vet to be checked out. A report may help with a claim.

Oh I called today the guy tried being a dick about it like it was my fault to be honest I didn't even know they were being shipped till the day they were arriving this is how they showed up to

So they shipped and did not tell you? That is sad. Stand your ground with them. Did they have any kind of guarantee? I went and check them out......DAMN for a lack of a better word.

Yea I didn't know they were coming at all till I emailed and asked if I would be notified when they were shipped they replied with we sent it out here's the tracking number it should arive today and on the box the sticker was placed on the 25th I got them on the 27th so that tells me they sat in those containers for 3 days being tossed around cuz it wasn't marked live animal and it was regular mail not fed ex or ups in the end he's gonna refund for the male

Always check out who you are buying from before. Ask on here. A lot of good people here that will help you find a good animal

Yea I had a feeling it was to good to be true 70$ for a pair I also breed veileds so it's not my first rodeo with chameleons I knew right away there was some thing wrong they come out of Texas but the package was from Florida so I'm assuming they were wild caught and placed in a box

that sucks man sorry to hear. next time try a quick google with in the first couple selctions of typing in reptile city. Is poor reviews. hope the female survives.

If there is any good advice everyone who wants to buy a chameleon should heed, it is to be patient, don't rush in to things and do as much research as you can before you make any decisions! Also, always ask for references!

So Sorry to hear ,what as followed up. Not hear to give any input to the matter.
It's always best to do research first on the Breeders for one. Yes patients for one .Please be careful . It's the same as for those Puppy Mills. Ask around this forum people will steer all of us in the right direction,and for Top Breeders. A Top Chameleon Breeder will send Info ,Pictures of your young Cham with a time line health guarantee.Also a Birth certification.

Yea I learned my lesson on that one I knew it was to good to be true 70$ for a pair in the end I was refunded for both I won't be buying from them again I'll look for a good breeder after the holidays tho
