He could be just upset and trying to intimidate you by hissing. My healthy chameleons do it all the time, mainly the females because they are bratty lol. But I think you should fill out the "how to ask for help" just so everyone can check your husbandry skills

I understand your concern my meg points her head up and hisses my dog gets concern when he hears it. She's a big girl and a loud Cham.

Sometimes my Cham just blows are through his nose to signal that he knows I'm there and moving too much for his taste. He never "sneezes" otherwise
