The local store near me has an adult panther with a jaw problem. The previous owner was a young kid and when the chameleon was young it broke its jaw. That was at about 4months old, he is now 18 months old. He was examined by a vet who said his jaw just elongated bc of the break and is ok. He isn't the best with his tongue but can use it, and loves eatn worms out of the bowl. I have been goin to this store for a while and they take very good care of their animals. I've wanted to give this guy a home for a while but am concerned.

Would u get an injured chameleon that was nursed bak to hralth? The only recurring problem he seems to have is some type of skin scabs occasionally on his front mouth due to his underbite and probably squish bugs where there ns no hard pallate to crush them. He is a hybrid and has the most amazing red and blue coloration but I'm concerned with the potential health problems. Would calln the vet who examined him be a good idea? Just gimme sum feedbak this guys been there for over a year and just cause he's got a bill cower underbite don't mean he's any less deservn of a home.

its a little unclear, are you purchasing him or adopting him? Regardless of any situation purchasing an unhealthy animal is not good, because it encourages people to keep selling unhealthy ones. If you are adopting it then hell yes, i know you can give him a really good happy life, especially with this forum at your fingertips.

I'd be purchasing/ adopting, I'd pay 200 but the vet bill and xray alone cost the store more, they probly spent 1000 or more nursing him bak to his current form, that's kind of store it is, they'd rather heal an animal than let it die cause it would b cheaper to replace.... The store received the chameleon from a previous owner who had a jeuvenile in the large cage and it fell and broke its jaw. I know its kinda messed up to technically sell an injured animal, but people adopt 3 legged dogs why not fix a chameleon to give it a better life eh?

i understand, if it has a good home there i would say let them have it, but this is just my opinion, you do what you want. If an animal is in a good home let it stay there, no point in paying money for an injured animal unless you are saving it from a bad home (and even then it just adds to the endless cycle) So its totally your call. You could take that 200 bux and get your own new cham and raise it, i find that to be very fulfilling to see it shed and grow and color up. Either way you go its not a bad desicion

If you have grown attached to it and want to purchase it knowing the issues, I would go for it. It sounds like the guy is stable so you will have a good chameleon, so where is the problem?
