reptisun light ?

Which one is better or does it make a difference Reptisun compact Fluorescent uvb or the 24" tube bulb uvb by reptisun

I am not sure as of recently if zoomed has altered their cfl's but they can cause blindness and eye problems to your cham. I play it safe and have the linear reptisun tube and couldn't be happier with it, my cham loves it and when she is at the top she's actually under the reptisun rather than the basking area 80% of the time. Make sure your cham is within12 inches or less away from the bulb or it won't get the uvb light. Also get the 5.0 bulb for chameleons

there has been known the compacts lights to damage chameleon eyes, though the reptisun compact is fairly new, so no "ba results from it yet though its most likely because everyone uses the linear tube floursecent lightbulb, it doesnt have to be a 24"... there are 18" and 36, and 48"...linear tubes have to be changed every 6 months or so, and causes no issues...

repti-sun and repti-glo 5.0 are safe to use, either/or

Yes I have an 18" and my cage width is 18". So just get it so the bulb is about the length of your cage width. So 18" wide cage-18" bulb, 24" cage-24" bulb. Or longer bulb if you have cages next to eachother so you have one bulb on two cages

It depends on your fixture. I have the Zoomed fixture which is 30 inches and that fits a 24 inch bulb. Doesn't your fixture allow for room on each side where the bulb screws in for the electrical componenets, therefore making the bulb smaller than the fixture? If he orders like I did, the bulb will be smaller than the fixture and he needs to be aware of that.

The first one is a compact bulb and the other one is long and is a linear tube bulb. The compact is way smaller and will not cover the width of your cage like the tube will. Both have the same amount of UVB output.

personally i like the linear reptisun bulbs, they're proven.

I know that. I have a 20" fixture on an 18" cage so the fixture just hangs over the side a little
