Reptisun 10.0 T5HO?

I will be getting my 3 month old nosy be by the end of the month. I already have a 2x2x4 enclosure from LLL that I will be starting him in and for uv, I have a 24" zoo med single T5HO fixture that came with their reptisun 5.0 in it. It is sitting on top of the cage. Now I've been told that this will be fine, however, I figure after 6 months of use I will be replacing the bulb, and by then, my panther will be 9 months old. So, I was wondering if reptisun 10.0's are okay in T5HO's? I just wasn't sure because T5HO's reportedly put off "twice the light" of a T8. As previously mentioned, the fixture wil be sitting on the cage and shining through the screen top panel.

The T5 lights give out much more light and much more uv than the older T8 bulbs. I personally use the arcadia T5HO bulbs. I use 12% on my panthers from 3 months onwards. They are great bulbs.

Could you please elaborate on cage sizes, barriers like screen, distance from cage and basking spot, etc.

My female is in a 4x2x2 cage and my male is in a 30 high, 16 wide and deep cage as he is around 4 months. Both have bulbs that have a reflector and site directly on the screen.

Both have their uv bulbs at the front of their cage. The branches underneath this are about 6 inches under the bulb but the male especially hangs from the top screen quite often directly under the bulb. have used hese bulbs for about two years now on veileds and panthers and yet to have any problems with them.

I was looking for info on this but it seems they are so new out the reptisuns haven't been compared to them yet. Hopefully someone does it soon!.
