Most people use the tube style reptisun 5.o. id use that one if u can. If not then a compact, like you are talking about, would work. But there is no reson to put it in a thing like that.. just get an actual clamp lamp. I haven't bought one in a while but they can't be that much more than the lamp in the link..

Small clamp lamps at Petco are cheaper than that lamp.

Even cheaper at Lowes or Home Depot. That little desk lamp isn't designed for a light to be on in it for 12 hours a day. But the best light for your Cham is a long tube style lamp mounted in a appropriate fixture. Only real way to get the UVB that your pet needs.

The light should always be on the top of the cage so if you can make the lamp shine through the top of the cage then sure it will work.

If you have to buy something, just get the clamp lamp and be done. This probably won't last very long or distribute the light very well. Not worth it.

I think he already owns the desk lamp. And yes u can use it if ur avidly looking to get a clamp lamp. Walmart sells the clamps for like 6-8 bucks.. desk lamp is much better than no lamp!
