Ready to breed?

I currently own a nosy be female that is around 7 or 8 months old. She weighs 35.6 grams and showing receptive colors. Does anyone have any opinions on how many grams a female nosy be should weigh? Also does anyone think I should wait a little longer?

My female was 60g at 6 months old. She bred at that time. I think the age is fine on your female not sure about the weight. Some will say to wait till 9 - 12 months.

I would say she is too small at 35 grams. Normally an average 8 month old is 50 grams easily. I would hold off a while and see if she starts putting on weight. How long is she? Where is she from? A cbb?

I would wait till she's a year old. Her body still need the calcium that the eggs would take away from her.

If they are big enough and have good body weight, it shouldn't be a problem. But 35 grams is a little small. Wait until she next cycles.

man....my females are lardos. MY 6 month old is 67g and my and 8 month is 94g. Either my scale is wrong or my girls need to go on a diet

I recommend that you wait for a while.
A female that weight 35 grams, is to light for breeding.
Normally you can breed with females from 50 à 60 grams. More weight is even better.
You sad that she is 7 or 8 months old, are you sure about the age?
Do you have a picture from the female?
