He is not happy... The enclosure he is in does not satisfy his needs. He will try to escape it like with the digging.

Here is the full answer to his species. T. jacksonii xantholophus or Mt. Kenya Three-Horned Chameleon a subspecies of Jackson's chameleon.

His cage is probably too hot, too humid or too small for him to be happy in it.
