Could a ball python with a respiratory infection give the RI to a panther chameleon?

Most RI’s are not contagious but a couple are. I recommend checking with your vet to see if yours snakes RI might be one of the contagious one and if it could only pass to other snakes or if it’s possiable for your chameleon to get it.

Do you handle the Python and it's equipment and then handle the chameleon and it's equipment without washing your hands in between?
Is the Python being treated for the RI?

It’s definitely something you want to get ahead of before it’s too late. I lost one of my favorite panther chameleons to a RI.

Never. I always wash my hands and tools such as spray bottles and tongs before handing different species of pets regardless. And yes, she was a rescue and she's on antibiotics
