Question about my cham..

My female veiled has no problem with me by her cage. She runs to the front to eat even if its not a treat and will come out halfway onto my hand to hand feed but quickly goes back on all fours in her cage but not running away. Does she just not like comeing out or is the human skin oils disturb some chams feet? I always use hand Sanitizer when messing with anything of hers could it be this? Oh and when I do get her out usually on a branch she is like a Kung Foo master on her back legs and if I offer my hand she will climb on it and continue trying to Kung Foo. Typically I just take her out to.clean which is a hassle getting her out of the hibiscus or schefflera to go back in but its nice today and I tried again and gave up cause I don't wanna stress her. I just don't understand why she is so terrified of "the hand" yet I can stand not even a foot away and shell eat right out of the cage not above my head..

To her you are a big scary predator and that hand is DANGER!!! give her time and she may realize that you are where the good things come from and be more tolerant. :)

I believe that as she has already come a long way in trust since the two months I've had her.like and feeding and waiting at the front of the cage. It just seems like she would already know. But when I did get her at the pet store.. I didn't like this, the girl put the little cage on the ground and towered over top of her as she scurried away and scooped her up. The girl claimed to breed and have several chams and gave me good info but I think this could also be a reason she is so scared. I would never go after my cham like that mind you, I always take it slow and easy in my attempts and not stare at her the whole time.
