Quadricornis egg laying advice needed...

Hi jus wandering if anyone has bred quads and if theres anything different about the whole process(as a pose to veiled's). This will be my first clutch from her ......im sure shes ready.. the woman i got them from said the last time she layed, it was in the substrate which was only about three inches. Obviously i re-housed them with no substrate and jus provided a "laying box" but shes avoidin the box and seems to like the newspaper bottom...Soo i took the box out for now and put a few inches of compost/sand mixture in the bottom.

Am i doing the right thing??

Hi,

make the ground as high as possible. Also make different zones of humidity. That means that you should spray more in one corner and nearly never in another one ( but this depends on how big your enclosure is). Make also some parts where the female could feel "save" that means with plants so that she can hide a bit. It's also good to seperate her from the male.

By the way: Your word choice and contributions like abouve don't help to become more answers

Best regards
Benny

I have bred quads and I can tell you the process is exactly the same as panthers. Use a bucket or a trash can with half soil, half play-sand and stick a branch in the middle so she can perch.

Leave her alone, (if you peek, make sure you don't disturb her). And thats it. Good luck, keep us posted.

Thanks alot ive never bred panthers tho. Do you put her in there and provide light and such...She has been kept with the male all her life, Do you think if i take her out it will stress him when eventually i put her back?????

How about put the male out of the tank ? I think you should care and concentrate on your female and not if this stresses your male
