Purpose of the casque.

The casques make them so much more beautiful, but it could also increase their body surface area to absorb more uvb more effectively, without needing to have direct sun exposure for longer periods. Also could keep their little brains cooler.
Neat ideas but not feasible

Absolute and sinful fabulation with no base
1. No water collection happens
2. Flagrant non-knowledge of the rainfall in ayemen demonstrated and even suspected
3. No mating and territorial display function,
4. There is no dat inside just muscle
a pure fantasy

If you could just come in and share your knowledge and evidence in an actually helpful way to help clear up misconceptions it would be far more effective than just publicly insulting people, calling them liars, and claiming to be the absolute authority that should never be questioned. It’s off putting and directly counterproductive to your supposed goals. No one wants to listen to someone like that.

I stated possibilities and theories, and did not claim them as unquestionable facts. Also this post is 7 years old. Perhaps I have even changed my stance with new information I’ve learned despite the direct observation I mentioned. Not that you would care though because you saw an opportunity to try to make someone else look foolish and jumped at it full force. Like usual.

And for the record:
1. I didn’t say it collected. I said it channeled water toward the mouth. Which I watched on my own chameleon with my own eyes. To extrapolate that as me claiming that is it’s sole purpose or that I am somehow convinced that it was evolution’s intent to create that effect is a gross overstatement.
2. Compared to a place like Nosy Be which gets an average of 80+ inches of rainfall all the cities I’ve looked it along the Yemen/Saudi Arabia border where veileds are native measure out less than half of that as their average. That is what I was referring to.
3. It was a theory
4. You think there’s no fat? I’ll take pictures of the next necropsy I do because I assure you, there is fat storage there. You think those bulging casques of obese veileds are just super muscular? They’re not.

First, You stated the collection function and fat in casque as fact not as an opinion.
Second I do not call you any name, neither do I in any post, I comment the facts, not the people.
Third, I am Not here to make friends but to assure correct and updated information is available to save lives of chameleons. I would gladly be corrected if I am wrong, would welcome it, as it serves a good purpose rather than being offended.
Fourth, please kick me out if you do not like it and say noone wants to listen to it. My info is, there are people here prefer to get correct info than presenting outdated incorrect instructions that cause bealt and life issues to our chameleons.
Fifth, I did not intend to attack or offend you,
i actually do not pay too much attention to who
Is the author but WHAT is written, if I offended you, I am sorry, Please Accept My apologies

Petr said..."4. There is no dat inside just muscle"...I think in response to Dayna's comment "The casque itself is made of muscle and fat and supported by bone."

This site indicates that there is fat...https://m.facebook.com/chameleongodfather/videos/fat-storage-and-obesityhttpsyoutubeqqys4tpix4swarning-graphic-contentobesity-is-/382963929077811/

So which is right?

And don't we look at the casque for signs of obesity in chams? This in itself is evidence there is fat there.

I was wrong
I did more investigations and what seemed to be fat is in fact edematic swelling of the muscle, nomdat present

Yes we look at the bulged casque as sign of obesity
This it does nor wxplicitly mean there is dat there
As There is none
It is water that makes rhe muscle extremely swollen.

In humans, All is also not fat but also swellings are very common

Do you have a source for that?
What source?
I dissected few dozens of chameleons since and made histological investigations
Do your own investigations and then report back
I am leaving from here, do not wsnt to you any more, as you state noone want to talk to me
