Puffs up when in natural sun

Hey guys here's a different topic last summer I was wondering when I taking my chameleon out for sun a lot of times he puffs up and when I put him in the shade he stopped puffing up can anyone tell me why? Also he ate dead flower leaves with his own mouth without tongue very strange but only 1 time

What species of chameleon do you have? What part of the county are you in? What are the outdoor temps when you put your Cham outside?

If he does like this he is probably just enjoying sunbathing.

As trace said, this is completely normal. By puffing up, there's more skin that's exposed to the sun to warm up faster and absorb more sunlight. If they're in the sun long enough and need to cool down, you'll notice they'll "slender" back down and usually start getting lighter in color to start repelling some of the heat.

I read yesterday that in the wild chameleons do eat fruit/vegetation with their mouths the tongue is used for insects n other prey

Agreed, just basking ;).. As soon as my panthers or veileds hit the sun they instantly went wild in a good way.
