General Behavior questions-

Back on here again!

My little guy has been doing great! (At least from what I can tell lol).

Lately Jax has been doing stuff that kinda worry me, not gonna lie.

Firstly, I do have a question about sleeping positions. He does tend to sleep on his branches but lately he's been sleeping on the screen? I read that when they are little like him, they do tend to do that and as they get older that stops(because of weight). Most of the time though he does sleep on his branches or vines.

Next, he's been- pacing? I know I've heard them using the whole cage is good. However, for those who do not know, I unfortunately as a first cham owner was sold the 18×18×36- thankfully right now he's not huge for it but with his like- circling? He goes to the bottom of the cage(like all the way to the bottom) and then circles back up and then back down- at first I've seen him do this to crickets that escape, like going that low. However there's like- nothing down there. I make sure to use like a mini vacuum to get up any loose crickets or poop, leaves, anything. So any ideas on why he's doing that? It kinds started yesterday.

You chameleon should not be sleeping on the screen. I would add or rearrange branches in your chameleons enclosure. Screen sleeping is not a healthy habit and new or newly arranged branches should stop that habit. That habit could lead to toenail loss (that won't grow back) if he continues with this habit.

I hope that helps.

Best Regards

I've learned with Mr. Jack, that I really have to observe him; he's a perpetual screen climber, if he's not happy with the arrangements. Keep extra sticks available to add to the cage; and upgrade to an XL as soon as you can afford it. I just had to move Mr. Jack to a large cage for a day to rearange the XL cage, and he was screen climbing like crazy, compared to his XL cage.

Yeah, sounds like the cage size then. For now, I'll take up on Jeremy's advice with more branches. This only recently was an issue so I'm guessing it's about time then. (Thankfully around the sale season).

Also good to know about the toenail things! Jeez- Again, I'll be home alot this week so I'll be able to watch him. I had a feeling something was off too. Thank you guys so much for your help again! I'll update you if anything else happens, good or bad.
