Hello,

I wonder if any of you have noticed a sassy attitude from your cham, so my chameleon Indy who is indeed a veiled chameleon recently had her 3rd shed and now anytime I enter her enclosure to clean or water plants she instantly becomes enraged and shows me her pissed off colors lol but goes away as soon as I close her enclosure door she's never did that until recently and she's about 3 months old going on 4 approximately on January 4th, I understand that veiled's can be quite the drama Queens but I'm wondering if anyone else ran into this, or she simply doesn't like me or my beard 😂

😂:ROFLMAO:😂
Welcome to the wonderful world of having a veiled female! Let me tell you about my Stella. A bit over 6 years ago I got her when she was maybe around 5 months old or so. I am always working on maintaining trust with my animals. Yet in all of these years with Stella, she is still my fierce lady. Once she realizes my fingers are not fat worms and can’t be eaten, she then attacks with hisses and biting. She knows she can trust that I’m never going to harm her, but still she is fierce. In her senior years now, I am able to tell if she is feeling her age with her level of ferocity. I worry if she’s not hissing and lunging to bite me. If I do hold her, she is calm and not trying to bite. Her attitude is just who she is and I just adore my beautiful sassy girl.

That's funny but also good to know, I knew during my research that they can be drama queens but to witness it for yourself is quite funny because I'm this gentle doesn't and she'll look at me with her angry spots looking like she's saying " fear me human I'm a ferocious beast" it's funny to see and I'm learning everyday with her. Surprisingly I knelt down so I'm well below her while misting her cage and she allowed me with no that posing lol but tomorrow I need to clean her enclosure and water plants and I will offer her a juicy hornworm to coax her out while I clean and water plants since she is now taking it without refusal
