Ive done quite a bit I research but wanted to know from current owners/ previous any tips/advice/ or anything I should really know before going through with my purchase.
Are you gonna breed? If so, you gotta look deep into that; jackson babies are not so "sturdy" as other species.
I see you live in Arizona. Are you getting an auto mister? This would be great and easier for you, especially in AZ
And watch out for over-supplementing, these guys are easily over supplemented
There are a few other people with jacksons on the forums. They'll pop soon
Thanks for responding so quickly, they could potentially be breeders in the future but not planning on it anytime soon. Just looking more of the care and prepreperation for them. Looking into the mister for them definitely!
We have two - our male lives on a free range and our female is due to give birth very soon. They are very easy to keep - they do love long drinks and showers.
I supplement them about once a week with repashy calcium plus - it's an all-in-one supplement. They eat mainly crickets and sometimes dubia. Occasionally silkworms and hornworms.
Make sure you are ready to go before you make any purchase! I would have the two enclosures up and running before any pets are bought. Plus you really need to research these guys before you take the plunge. They would not fair to well outside in Arizona. If you are really ready then go for it.
