possible conservatory conversion

We're considering converting our seldom used conservatory into a reptile/pet room. The problem is insulation. The conservatory gets very hot in summer & below freezing in winter & we're not sure how to stabalise the temp. Does anyone have experience in converting a conservatory in this way? The windows are already double-glazed & there is a small heater in there.

I'm assuming we will need to replace to plastic corregated roof to make some head-way

You could replace the top with glass that allows UVB through. That would be neat. As for insulation, i have no idea. Someone else can probably help though.

build a room inside of it,,,,with insulation between the outside walls and the new inside walls,,,kinda like a recording studio!!!

its alot like building an extra room in your house I used to do construction before my job now its not to expensive if you do it your self how big is the conservatory that would determine the thickness of your insulation pm me I could help you out

Thanks for helping! By what you've suggested, I think it's probably a project for next summer, when we have more time.
