So, i have a Meller's chameleon, and while handling him the other day i noticed that he has small 'soft spots' on top of his head, just in front of his flaps:
In the above picture, the bits im talking about are the small pair of mounds between the eyes and flaps on top of the head.
When you touch them, they are very very soft and smooth, and his flaps wiggle when you stroke them. Sometimes his eyes move around too, if you touch them.
Just wondering, but what on earth are they? It seems like his skull just stops there, and im poking him in the brain, but im doubting thats what it is. It is very strange though. Anyone with any knowledge of chameleon anatomy have any ideas what they are?
