please help! the back of his head looks swollen

No, sorry...that article was not about sexing panthers it was about what to look for when buying a blue panther.

I have been led to believe that it's possible to sex panthers from hatching based on the hemipenal bulge...

I've also been led to believe that colors are different from males to females (I keep smaller chameleons that are not as colorful so have no practical experience with this).
 
I've gone through all the threads you started and it took quite a long time.

I'm going to ask again since you didn't answer...is this the same panther chameleon that you were trying to sell? If so why were you trying to sell it?

I asked "You've said in previous posts that your chameleon has a tongue issue...so how are you providing it with crickets? Have you made any changes to correct the tongue problem?"...and you didn't answer.

You said..."Looks lazy ,his ribs expand outwards when he lays on the sticks"...laying on the sticks instead of holding his body up and tongue issues can be signs of calcium issues....likely the result of you not using the calcium often enough and not providing proper UVB. I gave you a lot of information on gutloading and supplements, did you read it and do anything about your supplementing?? Did you start gutloading your insects?

I repeat...you said..."I haven't gave him any multivitamins,just the vitamin with d3." I replied ..."I hope you don't mean vitamin with D3 but rather calcium (a mineral, BTW) with D3...and even if that's what you mean IMHO you may be overdoing the D3 depending on the supplement you're using." You never answered.

He does need more than 9 hours of UVB. What's the temperature in the basking area? Can't remember if I read it somewhere or not.

If you go on without making corrections for much longer your chameleon may very well die. Is that what you want??

Aren't all Panthers the same when it comes to sexing? It also does have a small section for sexing if you read a little bit further.
 
The picture he posted is a male panther for sure. It is far too colorful for a female. Very pretty cham too...it's a shame this person doesn't really seem to care to fix its situation.

Ok the red bulb at night... The temps do drop below 65, so do I use a ceramis heat lamp instead?

I will go ahead andd provide 12 hours of uvb. Darnit ,I will go to a reptile store at noon to get the proper calcium without d3 and will feed him Crikets no matter what.
yes i know he's a Male. I need to check up on my vet if they take payments...
 
Kinyonga, that could be why too.. when I got the veiled , he came with a bigger terrarium than my panther,so I switched them cages,and now he caught something from the veileds cage

Yes, if it is TOO cold, you can use a ceramic heat emitter or lamp or whatever its called. :p

Usually, stores don't carry calcium without D3. You have to purchase that online.

For future reference, NEVER switch chameleons into other cages without cleaning the cages VERY thoroughly first.

Increasingly that's not true. I would call the store to be sure but I have seen both calcium and vitamins which specifically state "no D3" on the shelves in local reptile stores.
 
Even though im new to owning chameleons im sorry but you have made some major mistakes ive only had mine for about 4 months and ive gotten another one but before i even thought of getting one i did all my research then joined this site with very helpful people imo it seem's as tho you dont really care to much and im not trying to be mean but its a living creature and they are very delicate you need to read a book or something google is free there is so much information on there that you can find out or talk to someone that has owned them for years for instance half the people on here are trying to give you advice and you seem to just disregard it like "oh w.e im going to do what i want to any way" imo your being very selfish and should learn to listen before its to late because he is very pretty and it would be a shame if he died

IMHO and with no sugar coating (sorry, I've just run out of my daily supply), the OP purchased an animal he was not prepared for and couldn't really afford to set up or maintain. Research didn't go beyond what he wanted to hear, so a lot of important stuff was left out including what a healthy normal cham should look and act like. It takes hardly any time at all to find this forum online (and I don't mean walking around with a cellphone for a few minutes, I mean sitting down at a computer prepared to learn). The cham's breeder could have helped make better setup and care decisions before the cham even arrived. Now this lovely little cham is not thriving (but the OP is still vague and confused about what is wrong) and all the basic misunderstandings about cham care are catching up to him. The effort and time that should have been spent before bringing this creature home is now going to cost more than ever especially now that a vet may be needed. The OP is now on the defensive in the face of all the forum's concerns and can't get past it.

Maybe the best option is to find the panther a home with someone who is prepared to deal with his health issues before its too late.

If you really do care about your chameleon then fill out the FULL form, I don't know what you're hiding but it can't be as bad as your cham dying.

Yes I have filled out the CHAMELEON form expert for humidity

The tempurature in my chameleons cage is 82. Basking is 92
At night I will start to use ceramic heat but I've been using red heat bulb at night cause the temp does drop below 60's.

His cage is place 3 1/2 feet above tile floor.
I also live in orange county
