play dead veiled

our veiled seemed dead we even turned off heating! Following morning, we were going to bury him in the garden and he decided to give us a heart attack ! Up and about now but not eating yet perhaps needs to warm up first ? Anyone with any experience of veileds playing possum for so long ?

he is 4-5 months old he seemed happy at 4.30 uk time yesterday eating climbing we went out for a few hours and we came home and was hang on the plants we got for him. i put my hand in and touched him no movement eyes stayed closed and no movement when i poked him so we turnd everything off thinking the worse not sure how low the temp went but when i went to get him out at 10am today the temp was 18/64 as he was still hold on to the plants.so when i tryd to get him off i noticed an eye moved and and then the other eye moved and with in a minute or so he was back to himself bar from eating i havent seen him eat anything yet but he has been active so i might have missed him eating

I think it would be a good idea if you go over your husbandry with us. Its not normal for a chameleon of that age to do what you described.
