Plant Care

I need a reminder here. I think I read this once, but I'm going to ask again.

Is it true that if you have indoor plants that you take outside on a fairly irregular basis can actually be harmful to them?

I think that I read plants have issues adapting to sunlight changes and that they ended up dying after a period of time. And does this apply to all plants?

I ask only because one of my umbrella plants has recently lost leaves like crazy. My two pothos plants also go outside, but they are growing like crazy!

It depends on the plant's ability to acclimate to new lighting situations. Plants that are not used to direct sunlight can get scorched. This has happened to my dwarf palm. I bought several umbrella plants and they all died on me- i think that was b/c of water issues though!
anyway, I guess the pothos are just less sensitive than your umbrellas.
