Place to buy bulk dubia?

Ok a medium cricket is .3 grams, and a full grown cricket is about .5 grams.

1000 medium dubia (.4 grams) is like$130 from most places(unlike crickets where you pay $30 ish for any amount or size)). My baby decided to like dubia all of a sudden, but my colony cant produce 12-18 .4gram dubia a day needed for the next 4 months till he/she goes up in feeder size.

Is there any bulk guys out there? I really dont want to have a bunch of quarters and dimes running around.

I also really dont want to have to buy crickets ever again...

When I switched over, I bought 100 mixed size dubia for roughly $30 and placed them in a large, 90L, rubbermaid tub on flexwatt heat tape,
and continued to feed them crickets until the dubia were reproducing and grown to the sizes I needed.
At that point you can seperate some of the adults into seperate bins and begin growing them so you have the numbers you need. Once they get established, you'll be giving them away within a year. Keeping the heat up in the 90's, and always having a water source and quality food is key.

Take a look at this recent thread. ABDragons took care of a problem and it wasn't even their fault.

Btw, its not only the weight you are benefiting from w/ roaches but its also the protein content that is about double in a roach vs a cricket. If my memory serves me correct its something like 18% for crickets vs. 32% for roaches. Pardon me if you already know that.

Check fauna classifieds. Some times keepers need to sell of extras but don't have websites and what not, so it can actually be very, very cheap. However, don't buy all 1000 at the size you need, as by 4 months from now they will all likely be adults. I suggest getting a bunch of smalls and mediums so some will grow into the right size (plus some mediums will grow to become adults and help your colony grow.)
