Pink Panthers

So I finally got my first pair of Pink Panther chameleons. I've been wanting a pair of these for a very long time. Heck, the pink panthers "from south of Ambanja" were basically just a rumor when I got into panthers all those years ago. Then, with all the problems with most imports not lasting very long I stayed away from them. I got these two a bit over a week ago from Jim at ChamCo. The male is captive hatched and the female the result of a wc x wc breeding here.

The male is super calm and almost seems to prefer hand-feeding. I saw him in all his pink glory the first day but he's so chill now he doesn't really change away from the green much. I've decided to name him Paul. Paul Anka(ramy):

And this is Sheila, we named her after a friend :)

Big thanks to Chameleon Company for letting me pick out such a great little pair for myself.

kent, your plants look very sad!!!!.....

and what kind of plant is the first one..

the chams, they look terrific.

Haha, those dead plants are actually branches I broke off the tree in front of my house. Underneath the dead leaves is a live Ficus in Paul's cage and a small Schefflera and Pothos in Sheila's.

Congrats on the Pinks....

Congratulations on your new pair. It will be fun watching the male develop over time. I've seen them get a really vivid deep rose/pink color when they start out with the green where yours is green now. And Jim at The Chameleon Company has always treated me well :)

Thanks for sharing, especially the male in the green phase! I had not seen the laid-back green of an Ankaramy before.

Thanks very much for all the compliments. Paul Anka definitely has some beautiful pinks, it's just a matter of getting him to actually show them. I'm guessing the pink may become more of his background color as he gets older?
